Portrait Artist based in Columbia (the city of dreams) South Carolina.

Powers was educated at the University of South Carolina, where its small but intimate art program, pushed her to grow as an artist both technically and conceptually. After getting her BFA with a concentration of drawing in December of 2023, she now works at a local frame-shop in Columbia. Working closely within the arts community provides an endless supply of inspiration and hands on experience with the behind the scenes of how to properly store, handle, and display artworks.

In her free time she is constantly painting, and when not working on specific portrait commission, she’s focused on exploring classic country music legends (Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, etc.) Doing research into their lives to better understand the genre they pioneered during the mid 20th century. All of this in order to highlight was makes the country genre great: good old fashioned storytelling.
